Nook Tablet Root Achieved, Google Apps Ready to be Installed
Earlier this week Amazon released the Kindle Fire, and the low-cost tablet was rooted almost immediately after launch, thus allowing Fire buyers to further customize their Android experience. At the same time Barnes & Noble launched its own ultra-affordable Android tablet, the Nook Tablet, and we’re not surprised to hear this devices has also been rooted in record time.

As detailed by the xda-developers, the Nook Tablet root was obtained in a similar manner to the Kindle Fire root. However, the tool that brings you a rooted Nook Tablet will not also unlock the bootloader in the process:
I have gotten zergRush to work on the nook tablet as well as created a batch script for you to run to allow you to root your tablet. This does NOT unlock the bootloader software/hardware checks this is just so you can remove whatever unnecessary crap you wish to get the **** off your device.
Rooting the Nook Tablet is required to install the Google Apps you want, including the Android Market, Google’s official application store. Barnes & Noble will certainly hate the fact that its brand new device has been rooted, but at the end of the day that’s what awaits any new Android device, especially the popular ones.

The picture above showing a rooted Kindle Fire has been apparently taken into a Barnes & Noble store according to the developer:
barnes and noble rooted ntab *I did that in store!*
We’ll remind you that rooting the device is perfectly legal, not that we’re advising you to root your Nook Tablet or any other Android device. You’re going to be the only person responsible for whatever happens to the Nook Tablet, and, in case you do want to go for it, make sure you follow the proper instructions as specified at the Source link below.
