We saw Motorola offer up an official announcement for the Xoom 2 and the Xoom 2 Media Edition tablets earlier in the month. Of course, at the time the release was only for those in the UK and Ireland. And well, it looks like Motorola will also have both tablets available for those in France.

That being said, the previous announcement for the UK and Ireland pegged the release as being sometime in mid-November. Unfortunately, nothing so much as a rough idea of when the tablets will be available in France, however on the positive side — we do have some pricing details.

The Motorola Xoom 2 will be 459€ and the Xoom 2 Media Edition will be 399€. And just to clarify that, those prices include all applicable taxes. In addition, the tablets will be available for purchase by way of several retailers including Darty and FNAC along with cdiscount.fr and surcouf.fr. Otherwise, just to clarify those prices, Motorola notes them as being the “retail recommended price” which means that they may vary slightly when actually available.

Otherwise, lets get into what can be expected with each of these tablets. Both will be running Android 3.2 Honeycomb and powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel webcam and a rear-facing 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom, auto-focus and LED flash.

Moving onto the individual devices beginning with the Xoom 2. This will feature a 10.1 inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass and a battery life of up to 10 hours. The Xoom 2 will measure in at 253.9 x 173.6 x 8.8 mm and weigh in at 599 grams. Next up, the Xoom 2 Media Edition — this will arrive with an 8.2 inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass, measure in at 139 x 216 x 8.99 mm and weigh in at 386 grams. And lastly, both of these models are the Wi-Fi only variants.
