We’ve known that a Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition exists for quite some time now, but up until today we didn’t know much about it. BioWare has announced the contents of the Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition, and at only $79.99, you sure do get a lot of extra stuff. Head past the break for all of the details.

How does BioWare manage to fit in all of this extra stuff for $80, when I payed the same price for the Fable 3 Collector’s Edition and only got a deck of cards and a coin that was lost immediately? Anyway, instead of dwelling on me getting ripped off by Lionhead, let’s take a look at what’s included in the Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition:

• Premium metal case featuring commemorative artwork of Commander Shepard.
• 70-page hardbound art book featuring hundreds of unique and gorgeous illustrations from the BioWare development team.
• Limited edition Mass Effect comic by Dark Horse Comics, complete with unique cover artwork.
• Premium fabric N7 patch.
• Exclusive 4×6 lithographic print featuring a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.
• N7 Arsenal Pack – Bring the firepower with the N7 Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol.
• Robotic Dog – A faithful sidekick to keep you company on board the Normandy.
• Squadmate Alternate Outfit Pack – New appearances for your favorite squad members.

Not bad, BioWare, not bad at all. I’ll may just have to order this, considering Mass Effect 2 was one of my favorite games of 2010 (and is up for another play through once I’ve had my fill of Skyrim). Here’s to hoping that BioWare knocks it out of the park with Mass Effect 3, eh? I don’t know how they’re going to pull of an ending to a series that has provided nothing less than a stellar story so far, but it would be quite a shame to have the Mass Effect trilogy go out with a whimper instead of bang.
