George Clooney, Noah Wyle Fighting For Steve Jobs Role In Upcoming Biopic?
Steve Jobs, age 56, passed away on October 5, a day after the iPhone 4S was officially announced by Apple. Less than three weeks later his official biography, which he never got to read before it was published, came out revealing previously unknown details from Jobs’ personal and professional life.

At the same time we heard that Sony was interested in the movie rights for Walter Isaacson’s best-seller and it looks like movie plans are underway in Hollywood.
Aaron Sorkin, the man that wrote the script for The Social Network, a movie about Facebook that made Mark Zuckerberg look bad in a very good way has apparently been hired to write the script for the Steve Jobs unnamed movieproject. But who’s going to get the main role?
The obvious choice seems to be Noah Wyle, who already played Jobs in a 1999 TV movie, Pirates of Silicon Valley, and he did it more than well. Jobs reportedly appreciated Wyle’s performance so much that he decided to invite him at the 1999 MacWorld expo to play a prank on the audience (video embedded below). After Jobs passed away and news broke that a movie based on his life is in the works, Wyle did say he was more than willing to replay the iconic Apple leader. And I’d be inclined to think he should do it based on what I’ve seen in the first movie.
But when one hears that George Clooney is also shortlisted for the same role, one has to stop and think for a moment who would make the better choice. Clooney and Wyle worked together for a while when filming ER, a TV series in which both men played doctor roles. This time around they will be fighting for a role that may turn out to be one of the highlights of their career, and yes, I’m thinking Oscar here.
Who would you choose between Clooney and Wyle to play Steve Jobs?
