And just like that, the integration between Skype and Facebook has taken another step forward. This latest will come as good news for those who are looking to make Facebook-to-Facebook calls using the regular desktop versions of the Skype app.

Yup, Skype has rolled out Facebook-to-Facebook calling for the Windows and Mac desktop clients. But that being said, they both come with the ‘beta’ tag attached. More specifically, the Skype for Windows is at version 5.7 Beta and Skype for Mac is at version 5.4 Beta.

But given we suspect that some will want this feature now, we will continue on with the details. If that happens to be the case, both the Windows and/or Mac clients are available for download from the Skype website.

In terms of making those Facebook-to-Facebook calls, that seems to be a simple process. The first step, make sure your Facebook and Skype accounts are connected. From that point, fire up Skype on your computer, select the Facebook friend you want to call and hit the video call button.

And the nice part here, the person you are calling does not have to be logged into Skype, they will be able to pick up the call from Facebook. In other words, this will make the video calling functionality similar to what we have seen in the past with Facebook messaging inside Skype.

In addition, these latest versions of Skype for Mac and Windows also bring other goodies such as video rendering for the Mac which is said to give a “smoother video experience” as well as group screen sharing for Windows users with a Premium subscription. And lastly, users who are chatting one-on-one will also be able to screen share with live video streaming.
