HP Makes It Official, Properly Unveils The HP Folio Ultrabook

HP Folio 13 Ultrabook Officially Announced, Will Weigh In At 3.3 Pounds & Arrive Sporting A 13.3" Display

We saw the HP Folio 13 ultrabook break cover yesterday, and well, it looks like HP has since come forward with the official announcement. The Folio 13 ultrabook will be coming available fairly soon and while it will be aimed at the business user, we suspect that it will also attract some attention from regular consumers.

That being said, the release date is set for December 7th and the Folio 13 will have a starting price tag of $899.99. Of course, that price tag will vary a little bit depending on the configuration you choose. Just to begin with, the notebook will allow users to pick from the “range of Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems including Windows 7 Professional.”

Otherwise, the notebook features will include a 13.3 inch diagonal high-definition HD BrightView display, Intel Core processor, Intel Rapid Start Technology, 128GB of SSD storage, backlit keyboard and an HP ImagePad with multitouch gesture support. A few other perks include HP’s CoolSense technology which is said to allow the notebook to feel “noticeably cooler” as well as a TPM Embedded Security Chip which will protect the “data in email as well as information on the hard drive.”

In addition, those who make the purchase can expect to find the usual array of ports and connectivity such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB 3.0. In terms of battery life, HP is touting up to 9 hours of battery life” which would make it “the highest performance available among Ultrabook devices currently on the market.”

Moving on and some other goodies will include an HD TrueVision HD webcam, Dolby Advanced Audio and a weight of just 3.3 pounds. And lastly, just because we often see accessories being sold with, the HP Folio 13 will have an HP USB 2.0 docking station available which is promising to offer a “desktop-like environment” with its addition of audio, video, network and USB connectivity.
