Gmail App for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch Now Available Again
Google has announced that its official Gmail app for iOS devices has been reinstated to the Apple App Store. Now with bug fixes and stability enhancements, the Gmail app is supposed to bring the full Gmail functionality in the convenience of a native app.

Gmail has been the one thing that Android has an advantage over Apple’s iOS. While Android smartphones and tablets have enjoyed the full Gmail experience. This includes the threaded message views, starring, priority inbox view and more. Google launched the official Gmail application a couple of weeks ago, but had to quickly pull it out of App Store due to reports of crashing and instability.
Google has recently re-launched the official Gmail app, which included the stability fixes that prevented the app crashes that users have complained about. The official Gmail app gives several advantages over the stock Mail app, such as push notifications. The app is still quite limited at this point, though. It doesn’t have support for multiple Gmail accounts, mobile-specific signatures and custom notification sounds, although Google says these are in the works.
The app is available for download at the App Store (see the source link), and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 4 or greater. Users who have installed the previous releases (versions 1.0 and 1.0.1) will need to log out and uninstall the previous version prior to updating or installing the new application, to ensure compatibility and to prevent further glitches.
