BlackBerry Bold 9790 & Curve 9380 Announced For Telus

Telus Confirms Price Details For The Bold 9790 & Curve 9380 Smartphones, Lists Both As "Coming Soon"

We recently saw RIM unveil the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the Curve 9380 with news that the handsets would be coming available with various carriers “over the coming weeks.” And well, as we had expected to happen — those carriers have since begun to offer their individual announcements.

One of which will be Telus, who have come forward with news that both the Bold 9790 and the Curve 9380 are “coming soon.” And while it would have been a bit nicer to get this news with something a little more specific in terms of a release date, Telus was kind enough to offer the full break down in terms of pricing.

That being said, lets begin first with the BlackBerry Bold 9790;

  • 3-year term: $129.99
  • 2-year term: $329.99
  • 1-year term: $429.99
  • No-term: $479.99

Moving on to the Curve 9380 and we have the following;

  • 3-year term: $49.99
  • 2-year term: $269.99
  • 1-year term: $319.99
  • No-term: $369.99

All said and done, both handsets will be arriving with seemingly fair price points. In terms of the specs, lets offer a recap for both devices beginning with the Bold 9790. This will bring goodies to include a 2.45 inch display, hardware QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, 1GHz processor, 1230 mAh battery, microSD card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and a 5 megapixel camera with VGA quality video recording.

Moving over to the Curve 9380 and we find the first all touchscreen device (in the Curve family). Other features of the 9380 include a 3.2 inch (480 x 360) touchscreen display, 806MHz processor, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and the same 5 megapixel camera with VGA recording that is found on the Bold.

Bottom line, these are probably just the beginning of what we will see in terms of these devices coming to Canada. We have already seen confirmation that Rogers is releasing the Bold 9790 and we sort of expect an announcement from Bell to arrive sooner rather than later.
