Sony Ericsson Launching Unlocked Xperia arc S & Xperia neo V Smartphones In The US
Sony Ericsson has recently announced that two additional Xperia branded devices are coming to the US. Though, before anyone gets super excited about carrier announcements — these two smartphones are coming as unlocked.

In other words, expect to pay a bit more for either handset. But before we get into the pricing, the handsets include the Xperia arc S and the Xperia neo V, both of which will be available in early December. In terms of where, expect to find these at the Sony Store as well as with “other retailers such as Newegg.com.”
The Xperia arc S will be selling for $549.99 and the Xperia neo V will be selling for $349.99. And remember, both will be unlocked which means no agreement with the carrier. Both of these handsets will be running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and presumably both will get an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich once Sony Ericsson has that ready. Breaking these handsets down, lets take a look at the individual features.
Xperia arc S
- 1.4 GHz processor
- 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor R for mobile image sensor
- 4.2” Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine Engine
- 3D and 2D sweep panorama photography
- Available in Pure White, Gloss Black, Midnight Blue, and Misty Silver
Xperia neo V
- 3.7” capacitive, multi-touch screen
- 5 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom
- Front-facing camera
- Available in Pearl White, Silver, and Blue Gradient
Otherwise, both handsets will also feature the Facebook inside Xperia integration as well as Sony’s “groundbreaking” 3D sweep panorama technology, which “enables image capture and viewing in 3D by connecting the phone to a 3D TV using the HDMI output, so you can show off those amazing pictures from your last vacation or that video of the flash mob you saw today to your friends and family.”
All said and done, if you are looking for an unlocked Android handset, then these two maybe worthy of your consideration. And once again, look for these to come available early next month.
