Sony Announces Harry Potter PS3 Bundle
The holidays are coming up fast, and we’ve got the console bundles to prove it. Microsoft and Sony have both already announced some holiday bundles for the Xbox 360 and PS3, but today, Sony added one more bundle to their holiday offerings. Oddly enough, this new PS3 bundle doesn’t include a game, but rather chooses to focus on a different PS3 feature: Blu-Ray functionality.

Instead of a game, folks who buy this bundle will be getting a Blu-Ray copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. The package also includes a 160GB PS3, a voucher for digital copies of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and finally, a 30 day subscription to PlayStation Plus.
Not only that, but the copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 includes both the 2D and the 3D version of the movie, which should give you an opportunity to test out that PlayStation 3D Display you just spent $500 on.
Truthfully, I’m not so sure that this bundle will do all that well. I think that people would be more inclined to buy a PS3 bundle if it came with a game instead of a movie, and at $249.99, I’m guessing that savvy shoppers won’t have trouble finding a better PS3 deal. At the very least, Sony could have also included part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – who wants to own only one half of a story?
Still, I’ll probably end up eating my words because millions of these bundles will sell during the holidays. After all, if there’s one lesson to learned for the last decade, it’s not to deny the power of Harry Potter. In any case, this Harry Potter PS3 bundle is out starting this week, so if you have to have it, you won’t have to wait long.
