Netflix Updates Android App, Makes It More Tablet Friendly
Those sporting an Android tablet and currently using the Netflix app may want to fire up the Android Market and grab the latest update. One that comes as a newly redesigned app which according to the folks at Netflix, will make it “much easier to discover and instantly watch movies and TV shows on Android tablets.”

That being said, this latest Netflix for Android app update is all about the design, layout and user interface in general. In other words, this one is not about device support, though that issue seems to have passed considering the Netflix app is available for just about every Android device — including the HP TouchPad running CyanogenMod.
Anyway, back to the task at hand — the current update. This one comes as a result of Netflix realizing that lots of users like to watch streaming content on their tablets. According to the statement provided;
“In the last 12 months we have seen a threefold increase in how long Netflix members are watching on their tablets,” said Neil Hunt, chief product officer at Netflix. “We’re happy to debut a new user experience coinciding with the release of the next generation of devices from industry leaders. The new Netflix interface offers a significant improvement in browsing and searching for TV shows and movies to instantly watch.”
As for getting the most recent update, most will want to fire up the regular Android Market. But on the flip side, the Netflix app for Android will also be found in the Amazon Appstore for the Kindle Fire and in the Barnes & Noble app store for the Nook Color and the Nook Tablet.
And lastly, while this release is for Android only, the folks at Netflix did mention that an updated iPad app was expected to arrive “in a few weeks.”
