MacBook Pro Video Freeze Problem Gets Solved

Software Update Geared Toward Fixing Video Problems Found On Certain MacBook Pro Laptops Manufactured In A Specific Date Range

Certain models of MacBook Pro have been, at last report, having some issues in regard to video freezing up, especially when trying to play a video. And for people who enjoy using mobile video, this has proven to be a substantial problem. But now, Apple’s got a fix in mind, and it turns out it’s just a software update away.

The problem was mostly cropping up on MacBook Pro models running Snow Leopard purchased in the middle of 2010 (problems range from computers manufactured between April of 2010 and February of 2011, so it’s actually a pretty big window), so more than a few users likely never noticed a problem as they never fit in that window for users who would be affected. But for those who did find their MacBook Pros in the midst of that situation, in which their laptops froze or stopped displaying video on their own display, or on outside displays connected to the MacBook Pro, the software update will likely prove very helpful.

The update itself is currently available out at Apple’s web site, for free of course, and is a 51.45 megabyte download that will likely only take a few seconds to get in for most. It’s said to be a Snow Leopard-specific version of an earlier update issued for computers running Lion, and should fix most of your video problems.

Considering the sheer progress that online video is making, and how vital computers in some form or another will be toward accessing said video, it’s going to be ever more important to ensure that computers offer a stable platform to access that video without incident. Of course, it’s a fair bet that television makers out there like LG were watching the video freeze problems with no small relief that they may be able to get their platforms in place, but with Apple clearly interested in fixing its own video freeze, that just underscores the importance of the online video market.

So what about you guys? Anybody find their MacBook Pro having some video issues? Did the download work to solve your problems, if you had them? No matter what the case, we want to hear from you, so head on down to the comments section and tell us what you think!
