Ice Cream Sandwich Expected To Hit Devices This January Thanks To Cyanogen Mod Crew
Chances are, for you Android users out there, the wait to finally land a sweet bite of Ice Cream Sandwich is getting downright overwhelming. But thanks to recent revelations from the CyanogenMod crew, the wait may be significantly less than expected, like this January less.

Recent announcements came out of no less than Cyanogen’s own Twitter feed earlier today, suggesting that interested users “check back” in two months following this message, which would put us smack in the middle of January 2012. And what he’s wanting us to “check back” on, reportedly, is a version of the Ice Cream Sandwich program built from the recently released source code for same. Of course, you’ll have to be willing to hack your various smartphones and tablets in order to actually use the CyanogenMod programs, but once you’ve done that, you’ll reportedly be able to get your device a shot of Ice Cream Sandwich possibly even before Google and Samsung can release the program.
The down side here, of course–aside from the whole “hacking your own device” thing–is that no one’s all that sure as yet just what devices will be able to run the hotly popular OS, nor just what the tech specs on your device of choice will have to be to run it, so there’s a fair chance that, even once the CyanogenMod crew manages to get the system up and running, your device of choice–hacked or otherwise–may not be able to handle it. Still though, since it’s likely to come to Nexus devices first, it’s a fair bet that anything relatively recent should be able to do the job.
So what do you guys think here? Anyone going to give the CyanogenMod crew a shot and take the chance on their version of Ice Cream Sandwich? Or will you hold out until Google does its own releasing and you get the product they meant for you to have in the first place? No matter what your plans on this one, we definitely want to hear from you, and the comments section is the perfect place to do just that!
