Call Of Duty Elite Might Not Make It To PC

We all knew that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was going to be absolutely massive when it launched last week, but it was pretty surprising to see Call of Duty Elite, Activision’s new Swiss army knife approach to stat sharing, take off in the way it did.

Call of Duty Elite launched alongside the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Modern Warfare 3, and Call of Duty fans are eating it up. The service has had millions of users flock to it in a very short amount of time, and many have even handed over the additional $60 to get access to Call of Duty Elite‘s premium features.

In short, it’s a hit, but while Xbox 360 and PS3 players are giving Call of Duty Elite a legendary launch, PC users are left wondering when their version will release. The PC version was delayed just days before the game launched, and now it seems that it may not come to the platform at all. In response to a fan question on Twitter, Activision said, “We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.”

So, Call of Duty Elite might never come to PC. That’s definitely a downer for FPS fans who like to track their stacks and be part of a clan, and I’ve never really met an FPS player that doesn’t like that kind of stuff. Then again, at this point it doesn’t really matter if Activision gets Call of Duty Elite up and running on PC – it has been bogged down with all sorts of problems following the launch of Call of Duty Elite on consoles.
