BlackBerry Bold 9790 Confirmed For Rogers

Rogers Announces The Bold 9790, Promises It Will Arrive "In Time For The Holiday Gift-Giving Season"

RIM recently announced the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the Curve 9380 and as we expected to happen — the carrier announcements have begun to arrive. This first is for just one of the two handsets, the Bold 9790 and it comes by way of Rogers.

But that being said, before any potential Rogers customers get super excited — this is more just an official confirmation as opposed to a full-fledged announcement. In other words, while it is nice to get the confirmation, there are still some details that you are going to need.

Anyway, as one would expect, those missing details include the pricing and a specific release date. As for what has been offered up by Rogers thus far, simply that the BlackBerry Bold 9790 would be available “just in time for the holiday gift-giving season.” Needless to say, given the current date — we suspect more information will be arriving sooner rather than later.

Otherwise, here are the highlights that Rogers would like you to know about;

  • The BlackBerry Bold 9790 runs on the latest BlackBerry 7 operating system making it powerful, yet compact (perfect stocking stuffer size!). The BlackBerry 7 OS is the fastest, most powerful browser for a BlackBerry to date, which means 40% faster loading than the earlier version
  • It also has a 1 GHz processor. This means faster access to apps, web browsing, games and more.
  • The Liquid Graphics Processing Technology displays crisper graphics so that holiday treat on your screen will appear even more scrumptious.

Of course, that is just the start in terms of the specs. As for the other goodies, the Bold 9790 features a 2.45 inch (640 x 480) capacitive touchscreen display, hardware QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, 768MB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS, Proximity Sensor and Ambiant light sensor, a 1230 mAh battery and a 5 megapixel camera with VGA quality video recording.
