Bell Mobility & Virgin Mobile Announce Plans To Release The Samsung Galaxy Nexus
While we still need the finer points, you know, the pricing and specific release dates — it looks like two Canadian based wireless carriers have announced plans to offer the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

The carriers include Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile, both of which should have the Ice Cream Sandwich running handset available in “early December.” The details coming from Bell include a newly launched teaser style page where you can check out the specs of the handset along with some images and the obligatory place to “register for more information.”
In terms of Virgin Mobile, they offered just about the same amount of detail, however they choose to make it official by way of a press release.
“It’s time for a taste of ice cream sandwich! Virgin Mobile Canada is bringing the brand new Galaxy Nexus to the hottest network and pre-registration opens today for those who can’t wait to get the scoop. The Android powered smartphone from Samsung and Google will be up for grabs in early December at Virgin Mobile with all of the exclusive Member benefits that you love!”
Of course, Virgin Mobile also has a similar teaser style page where you can check out the highlights as well as trade a bit of personal information in exchange for the promise of an email “the second it’s up for grabs.”
That all being said, regardless of where you buy your Galaxy Nexus — you will be getting the same specs which include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.65 inch (1280 x 720) HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display and 16GB of internal storage space. In addition, the other specs will include a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack and a 1750 mAh battery. And of course, the handset will support the newly announced ICS features including Face Unlock which may (or may not be) able to be tricked by a photograph.
