Battlefield 3 Cheaters Get Hit With The Banhammer

Battlefield 3 Cheaters Banned Across All Platforms, Battlefield 3 Patch On The Way To Fix Exploits & Glitches Used In Cheating

Even though Modern Warfare 3 was released last week, Battlefield 3‘s multiplayer is still going strong. Thousands and thousands of players log on each and every day to engage in some good old fashioned wartime combat, but unfortunately for the players who want to have a good time, there are those who prefer to cheat instead of play an honest game.

Of course, there will always be cheaters no matter what game you play – for instance, I wasn’t surprised at all to check the Sonic Generations leaderboards the other day and see that a couple of people had a top completion time of 0:00:00 on Green Hill Zone. While some publishers and developers would prefer to just turn a blind eye to cheaters, those who cheat at Battlefield 3 may have found themselves banned when they tried to log in last week.

Yup, DICE and Electronic Arts have been handing out banhammers to Battlefield 3 cheaters, issuing a statement through multiple tweets that serves as a warning to those who are thinking of cheating their way to the top:

This week we’ve banned hundreds of offending accounts and have stats-wiped accounts for exploiting (such as boosting). We are working on banning as many people as we can as quickly as we can. We have a zero tolerance policy for cheating.

So there you have it. Cheat at Battlefield 3 and get yourself banned. Keep in mind that these bans are taking place across all platforms, so no cheater is safe. A patch is on the way to fix those exploits cheaters are using, but in the mean time, it’s probably a good idea to stay on your best behavior if you don’t want your account banned and your stats wiped.

Now, if we could just get Electronic Arts to be as proactive is solving the ongoing issue with Battlefield 3‘s online pass, I think we’ll be golden…
