Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Soundtrack Available For Pre-Order
Any gamer worth his salt knows that iconic video games tend to have iconic soundtracks. We’re talking iconic like the Green Hill Zone theme from the original Sonic the Hedgehog, or the Mario theme from… well, every Mario game ever created. True, a lot of people out there couldn’t care less about a video game’s soundtrack, but to those with an attentive ear, the soundtrack of a video game can add greatly to the wonder and majesty provided by the gameplay and story.

Halo is one of these games, and the soundtrack is one that ingrains itself in your mind like the catchiest bubblegum pop song. That’s not to compare Halo‘s soundtrack to the pop songs that plague our radio stations, however – on the contrary, Halo‘s soundtrack is quite a bit deeper than most songs that normally get stuck in your head.
If you’re a fan of the driving tunes that play as you blast Covenant troops across the galaxy, then you’ll be pleased to know that Microsoft has teamed up with Sumthing Else Music to bring us the soundtrack from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. The two-disc album packs in remasters of all of Martin O’Donnell’s and Michael Salvatori’s timeless Halo songs, and it’s available now for pre-order.
Then again, why pre-order when it’s releasing in just two short days? Yep, on November 15th, physical copies will be available at music retailers worldwide for $14.99. If you’re more of the digital music type, then you’ll be able to download it through Sumthing Else’s website as well Amazon MP3 and iTunes. If you really like Halo, you can order a vinyl version of the soundtrack for $24.99, which also comes with a digital download.
Thought I rarely buy video game soundtracks, I may have to make an exception for the Halo Anniversary soundtrack. Halo: Combat Evolved had one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard in a video game, and $15 is a small price to pay to listen to that music all the time.
