Toys R Us Lists The Kid-Friendly Nabi Tablet For Pre-Order

Nabi Tablet Comes Available For Pre-Order With Toys R Us, Brings A 7" Display & Android With A $199.99 Price Tag

If you are looking for a kid-friendly Android running tablet you may just be in luck. The Nabi Tablet has just come available for pre-order with Toys R Us and it is being described as able to offer a “kiddified” user experience.

That being said, just like many other specially or niche products, this one seems to come with a price premium. The Nabi Tablet is selling for $199.99. And if you ask us, we would rather test the waters with something along the lines of the Kindle Fire, but we realize everyone is different and some like the “kiddified” products.

Anyway, the Nabi Tablet brings features to include a 7 inch “brilliant” capacitive touchscreen display with the ability to let your child browse the web, watch movies and television shows, read books, learn math and “much more.” Other specs of the device include a 533MHz ARM Cortex Z9 dual-core processor, PowerVR SGX530 graphics, 4GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, a front facing 1.3 megapixel webcam and a 3000 mAh battery that should be good for up to 5 hours of run time.

Otherwise, considering this device seems to be more about the content as compared to the specs, here is the list of goodies that one can expect to get.

  • Its a University: The award-winning Fooz Kids University is a Nabi exclusive with over 22,000 state standardized math skills covering grades Pre-K through 5th.
  • Its a Design Studio: 30+ apps from drawing and painting to creating professional quality books allow for creative exploration that can be shared with friends and family.
  • Its a Movie Theater: A 7-inch brilliant 1080p display lets children watch their favorite TV shows and movies at home or on-the-go.
  • Its a Library: 30 pre-loaded e-Books make stories come to life and encourage children of all ages to read.
  • It puts children in control of their favorite games such as Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja and Need for Speed.
  • It’s a Game Console: Tilt-sensor controls and a Multi-Touch display puts children in control of their favorite games such as Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja and Need for Speed.
  • Its Powerful Enough for Mom: With the tap of a button and password, mom can enter “Mommy Mode” and enjoy a full-featured Android tablet to browse the Web and use her favorite apps and games.

And lastly, while the device is still only available for pre-order, it was noted that the Nabi Tablet is expected to begin shipping on December 1st.
