Motorola Droid RAZR Costs Just $111.11 on Contract on Special Release Date
By now you probably know that Verizon decided to launch the Motorola Droid RAZR Android 4G LTE smartphone on a special date, 11/11/11 at 11.11AM, and who can blame them, after all it’s not every year that such a launch can be scheduled.

But the magic of tomorrow’s calendar date doesn’t stop there as Amazon Wireless is reportedly ready to make you an offer you shouldn’t refuse. The retailer wants to sell you the Droid RAZR for $111.11 when purchased with a new two-year contract, which means you’d be getting an impressive $187.89 discount on one of the most interesting Android handsets to hit stores in time for the holidays.
Of course, some of you may be waiting for other equally interesting Android devices from Verizon, like the HTC Rezound and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The Rezound will also cost $299.99 on contract but since it will launch on November 14, a not-so-magical date, we wouldn’t expect Amazon to significantly discount the handset, at least not on launch day.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will probably come with a subsidized price of $299.99 too, although that’s yet to be confirmed. As for its launch date, Samsung U.S. executives are not at liberty to say when that’s supposed to happen and Verizon is still very secretive about it. Word on the street is that the handset will launch around November 21 (the latest rumor) but we’re still waiting for Big Red to properly announce it.
Getting back to the RAZR, earlier today we showed you another reason you should consider getting the handset: customer-friendly bloatware dispersal. While Verizon will pack all sorts of things on the handset, you’ll be able to either hide it or uninstall the Verizon proprietary apps you don’t really want to use. And all that is possible without rooting the device. Unfortunately for U.S. RAZR customers, Verizon will not let Motorola offer you an unlocked bootloader, a feature buyers in other markets will surely enjoy.
Are you buying the $111.11 Droid RAZR on 11/11/11? You get bonus points if you manage to complete the purchase at 11:11AM/PM. And it looks like this will be a one-day deal, so better make up your mind fast.

This will push me over the edge. I’ve been struggling for weeks between the nexus and razr. Saving this much cash plus my “new every 2″ $50 discount and the razr takes a huge lead. I love amazon.com. I’ll even pay an extra 4 bucks with my prime subscription and get it next day! Come on… a new Droid razr for 66 bucks. That’s a no brainer….
You don’t get your new every two discount when you purchase through Amazon because Amazon Wireless is always cheaper than the $50 off.
And that discount is only for new subscribers. Their upgrade price is 249.99, the same as if you used your new every two at Verizon.
Felt real bad when I missed this chance..
