Limbo Hitting Mac OS By The End Of The Year
Traditionally speaking, the Mac is the platform left out in the cold when it comes to video game releases. Due to the ratio of Windows users to Mac users (a ratio which weighs heavily in Windows’ favor) most developers and publishers choose to ignore the Mac entirely, only releasing their games on Windows.

Fortunately for Mac owners, independent developers need to sell as many copies of their games as possible, so in recent years we’ve seen more and more indie developers releasing a Mac version of their games in addition to the Windows version.
Playdead Games, developer of the much-loved indie sidescroller Limbo, is one of these developers. Playdead has announced that Limbo has sold a total of one million copies, and to celebrate, they’re bringing Limbo to Mac OS by the end of the year. The Mac version of Limbo will support SteamPlay, so if you already own the PC version (which was released back in August), you’ll get the Mac version for free.
Alternatively, for those of you that don’t switch between Mac and Windows computers regularly, Limbo will also be available on the Mac App Store. If you haven’t checked out Limbo yet, it’s high time you do. It’s a challenging little platformer that can, at times, get pretty terrifying between the giant spiders and the random, gruesome deaths.
There’s no official word on pricing yet, but it’s pretty likely that the Mac version of Limbo will launch at $9.99 – the same price as the other platforms. As well, there aren’t any details on a release date at the moment, but you can be sure we’ll have a release date for you once Playdead announces one.
Are you going to pick up Limbo on Mac once it releases, or do you already have Limbo on another platform? Head down to the comments section to sound off, and keep it tuned right here at TFTS for more news on the Mac version of Limbo!
