Samsung Galaxy Note Now Shipping To Those In The US
Those located in the US who have been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy Note, perhaps having been convinced after fellow TFTS blogger Steve offered up seven reasons as to why this handset may succeed — we have some good news. Well, we have some good news assuming you are willing to part with some serious cash.

Yup, as you may have guessed, the Samsung Galaxy Note is now available for sale in the US. The tablet-sized smartphone is being sold by way of Amazon. More specifically, it is being sold on Amazon by way of a company called FGS Trading. The Galaxy Note N7000 (i9220) is noted as being factory unlocked and it is currently priced at $849.99, which thankfully includes free shipping.
In terms of the available model, this is noted as being the international model. And for those wondering what that means in terms of US carriers. The Galaxy Note will come with support for 3G/4G: 850/900/1900/200 EDGE: 850/900/1800/2100. In other words, think GSM carriers such as AT&T or T-Mobile, but not the CDMA carriers such as Verizon and Sprint.
Otherwise, the specs for the Galaxy Note include a 5.3 inch WXGA (1280 x 800) HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display and an overall size of 5.78 x 3.27 x 0.38 inches with a weight of 6.28 ounces. In addition, the handset is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the Samsung “S Pen” interface which is said to bring a selection of apps designed specifically for the included stylus. Some of the apps include S Memo and S Planner. Moving back towards the hardware specs, the handset also has a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash.
All said and done, while the size of this display may be a turn off for some, it does appear like it will have a rather nice display to look at. Of course, we suspect that the $850 price tag may be the real turn off right now.

Didn’t Samsung learn anything from the delayed shipment of the Galaxy S2 to the USA? The phone fell flat on its face and was quickly bulldozed into an early grave by the Iphone 4s release. It was such an afterthought that Samsung already released a newer faster 4g version on AT&T. Now it looks like they want to repeat their mistake by playing this stupid game again with the Galaxy Note. Why would they again waste all this great buzz and NOT RELEASE THE PHONE ASAP TO THE USA – A MARKET THAT ACTUALLY WANTS THE PHONE!!?? My Captivate desperately needs replacing but I will be damned if I am plunking down my money for something that will be outdated as soon as it has been released. SAMSUNG-I BEG U-SET THE NOTE FREE IN THE USA!!
Right on brother…I waited for the Galaxy S2 and by the time it got here its already outdated. I hope they read blogs like this and it becomes not a trend on their part in releasing products. I presume that there is an intentional method to their marketing…but they should push harder to get it our hands. Leave APPLE ALONE AND HAVE FAITH IN YOUR OWN IDENTITY SAMSUNG…PEOPLE WILL BUY BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE IN YOU…I’M ONE OF THEM.
I’m curious about this device. For someone like myself that would like to get a tablet and a more up to date Android device this phone fills both requirements. The question is that a good thing? Is it going to be too large to use as a phone? I’ll have to take a look at it once it’s native in the US.
Well its gonna be appealing to people, like myself who wants to carry 1 device that can do it all. I would often try to write things down then wondering where I put that paper later, tired of carrying pen/pads,good camera, phone, tablet. I write poetry so this is going to be helpful. The size is a compromise for people with small hands and using it as a phone, I believe the pros outweighs the cons, but with all that said “man, da ting ya look maddd…mi caant wait fi see dis.”
I recently bought a Galaxy Note N7000 international model from eBay. Its a beautiful phone and the display is very clear. But I can only get EDGE on T-Mobile. I’m confused because the specs looked the same as my Galaxy SII. I’m Bummed Big Time. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am wondering the same thing but for Verizon… Will it work or will it be a dud :( The States should be more Technological like the Azn Countries… have you seen some of the tech they have in there hands? IT’S FREAKING CRAZY!!!
If you got the Note already, you made a big mistake, the reason it isnt launched in the US and is in other countries was due to patients on some of the new networking chips, in other countries where they only have 3g and other older networks so they didnt have to delay the release. Thats what made the Note available sooner to other countries. Not some scheme… the first country to get the 4gLTE version will be Korea and hopefully at the same time or soon after it should come to the US. AGAIN, if you live in the states and you bought the Note already your really losing out due to inpatients. Wait until it drops in Korea or the US. Or anywhere where it will be released with the 4gLTE chipset.
ya but by then there will be more devices in the market allot better than GN things change faster. i wanted this now.
Verizon will as always be the last carrier to have this great combo phone. That means I have to wait wait wait for these slow to go a holes.
I waited for the Motorola’s Dinara (due xmas) only to drool for. Droid 4 (due for Xmas) and then The Note Phone (due Xmas?) Is winking at me…can my of Droid hold up one more month? Probably since I can’t find it … maybe a Note Phone with a hard QWERTY keyboard with Dinar a specs is next…please Lord, make it so…
Dear NOTE FANATIC,
Thank you so much for your intelligent reply as to why the SAMSUNG NOTE is not available yet in the USA. Your reply makes total sense except for the fact the AT&T is now releasing 4GLTE phones in the States (HTC and Samsung S2 supercharged with 4g but still too late for this boat). I am hoping that AT&T will have the time to focus on their new products and release dates since their deal to aquire T-Mobile is dead. I am still wishing for a Samsung Note to appear under the tree on Christmas Day. Wait!! You say that their is a NEW NOTE IN WHITE BEING RELEASED IN GERMANY EVEN AS I TYPE?? WHAT’S WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?? GET OFF YOUR DEAD ASSES AND GET THIS PHONE INTO THE US MARKET BEFORE YOU BLOW THIS GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO SELL THIS PHONE. NO ONE WILL BE BUYING LIKE THEY ARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. SELL IT OR LOSE IT BOYS!!
People here don“t understand the problem is not Samsung bringing Galaxy products to USA, the problems are the carriers.
USA is the last because every carrier wants a different version, modified and customized to them.
Excellent, very well said….
I am due for a upgrade by March 2012 and I currently have a blackberry, but OMG that Samsung Note is the truth. I have never been a fan of touchscreens, but as others have commented on, that is cell/tablet in one! And Tmobile take heed to your customer base, now that (i assume) the deal with ATT is dead, get this phone and get ahead! The size is not going to be a big issue! We as American love playing with new toys! This Big Kid want this toy! I had a Toshiba Thrive tablet and my only disappointment was I had to get a hotspot to work it, not good! in these times who wants to incur more bills? Bring that note out and we have solved my problem, the “phablet or tabone” which ever way you wanna name it, I am on it! So think about it and listen to the people! the people are the ones who keep the “technology machine” running!
Try switching network mode to GSM/WCDMA (AUTO MODE) go to settings-wireless and network- mobile networks- network mode- swit h to auto mode. Had
