Samsung Galaxy Nexus Will Launch In The UK On November 17th

While we have already seen some bits and pieces in terms of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus release for those in the UK, it looks like Samsung has made if officially official. In other words, they have dropped the press release and named the date.

That being said, while the confirmation on the date was nice to see, there are likely still going to be some other bits and pieces that we need. For example, the details in terms of pricing and plans from carriers. But first, the word from Samsung comes as follows;

“Samsung today announced the first smartphone to feature Android™ 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 4.65″ HD Super AMOLED display, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, will be available in the UK from Thursday 17th November.”

In addition, Samsung noted that the Galaxy Nexus will be available “in a wide range of UK retailers.” Otherwise, aside from those little tidbits the rest of the press release is highlighting the specs and features that one will see if they make the purchase. And really, it is probably safe to say that anyone who has been waiting for the handset to arrive is probably more than aware of what it will bring.

You know, the features such as the HSPA+ connectivity, 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 5 megapixel camera with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. And as far as ICS, that will bring goodies such as improved multi-tasking, notifications and the “Face Unlock” which we are still unsure if people will actually use.

Bottom line here, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be available for those in the UK beginning on November 17th. With that, now that Samsung has dropped this press release we suspect we are going to begin seeing some additional information come available from carriers and retailers with more information regarding pricing and plans.
