Roku Remotes Will Soon Be Sporting A Dedicated Button For Pandora
Earlier in the year we heard reports of Vizio beginning to launch remotes with a dedicated button for Netflix, and well, it now looks like Roku will soon begin shipping select players with a dedicated Pandora Radio button.

Yup, it looks like attack of the dedicated buttons, which for those who are fans of the services will like. But on the flip side, we are left wondering if there will be an option from Roku to get a remote without the Pandora button because well, not everyone listens to Pandora.
Anyway, the details are coming from the official Pandora blog where they offer the following;
“Pandora, the leader in personalized internet radio today announced it is extending its presence on Roku with the addition of a dedicated Pandora button on the remote controls of select Roku streaming players, including Roku 2 XD and Roku LT models.”
Further details touting just how nice this will be include that “close to 35% of radio listening takes place in the home” which goes to imply that a Pandora button will be a good thing. Or at the very least, will be something that makes it quicker and easier to begin listening to Pandora in your home. And as to why Roku may be offering this with Pandora, it was noted that “Pandora is one of the top five most popular channels on Roku and is featured in the Roku Channel Store.”
Not to push the good news for Pandora aside, but it still leaves us scratching our heads wondering why. And maybe why not other services — maybe some of us would like our Roku remote to have a Netflix button on it. That being said, the Roku players with the new Pandora-button-having remotes are set to begin shipping in “early November” which seems to us that they should be available any day now.
