MGS: Rising, New Alan Wake & New BioWare Game Will Debut At VGAs

At Least Three New Games Getting Reveals At Next Month's VGAs, With One Being A Mystery Game From BioWare

Ah, the winter months. With the snow already beginning to pile up in some places around the world, the fast approaching winter season can only mean one thing: we’re mere weeks away from seeing Geoff Keighley’s smiling mug as he brings us the Video Game Awards for another year.

The the annual VGAs is one outlet publishers and developers use to officially unveil their upcoming games – last year we saw the likes of Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and SSX unveiled for the first time at the VGAs – and this year will be no different. Keighley has shared some of the games that will be revealed at this years ceremony, and it sounds like this year’s show is going to be one to watch.

First up, we’ll have the reveal of a new Alan Wake game. Before you get too excited, you might like to know that this upcoming Alan Wake game will be an Xbox Live Arcade title, so it likely won’t be the sequel you’re waiting for. Still, I know that there’s a lot of Alan Wake fans out there, so Arcade Alan Wake must be better than no Alan Wake at all.

Next on the list of VGA reveals is a new game from BioWare. Lips are being kept sealed on this one – we have literally no information on it. If I had to guess, though, I would say that BioWare is going to announce Dragon Age 3 at the ceremony. After all, it’s been a while since we’ve heard from the Dragon Age series, so it seems about time for another installment (thought I’m secretly hoping for the reveal of Jade Empire 2).

Finally, Metal Gear Solid: Rising will get an official reveal at next month’s VGAs. Metal Gear Solid fans have been waiting patiently for any kind of information on Rising for quite some time, so if you’re one of them, be sure to catch the VGAs this year. If you simply can’t wait, Game Informer will have some screens and early info on Metal Gear Solid: Rising in their December issue, so you can read up a little bit before the ceremony goes live.

Unfortunately, that’s all the information you’re getting for now. If you want more, you’ll have to tune into this year’s Video Game Awards, which airs on December 10th at 8PM EST on Spike, Spike.com, and MTV2.
