Telus Launching Another Facebook Phone, The Motorola MOTOKEY SOCIAL
Telus may already have a Facebook Phone with the HTC Status, however that does not seem like it is going to stop them from offering up another. Though, unlike the Status, this one is coming from Motorola and seems destined for the pre-paid market. Anyway, the handset is dubbed the MOTOKEY SOCIAL and so far, the release is said to be “coming soon.”

In other words, we are still waiting for Telus to offer up something a bit more specific in terms of when the Motorola MOTOKEY SOCIAL will be available. Not to mention, how much the handset will end up selling for. And despite being heading towards the pre-paid side, we suspect that it will still arrive low priced. Or at the very least, we hope that it will arrive low priced.
That being said, as for what the Motorola MOTOKEY SOCIAL has in terms of features, those begin with a 2.4 inch (320 x 240) QVGA touchscreen display and a hardware QWERTY keyboard. And for those looking for that Facebook Button, that will be sitting to the left of the space bar in the bottom corner. In terms of what one can do with the Facebook Button;
“The dedicated Facebook key lets you access your account, share your pictures and links, and keep up with your friends with the push of a button … really … one actual button.”
Otherwise, the other features include a 3 megapixel camera with digital zoom and video recording at 30fps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 64MB of RAM, 50MB of internal storage, memory card slot and a 910 mAh battery that should offer up to 480 minutes of talk time.
The handset will measure in at 105.5 x 60 x 9.98 mm, weigh in at 87 grams and arrive with support for goodies including POP3 and IMAP email, a proprietary web browser and easy access to other services such as Twitter, YouTube and Gmail. And lastly, the Motorola MOTOKEY SOCIAL is smoke gray in color with “licorice accents.”
