RIM Officially Releases BBM Music, Will Be Available For Those In The US, Canada & Australia
We have seen RIM mention the BBM Music service/app quite a few times in the past few months. The previous coverage mostly included the basic details and how the service was available in beta form by way of the BlackBerry Beta Zone. And well, it looks like RIM has stripped away the beta tag and officially launched BBM Music into the BlackBerry App World.

That being said, most of the features that arrive with BBM Music are what we saw while it was still in beta. But that aside, while most of the features have come as expected, there is a bit of good news for those who want to test this out and are not willing to part with any money upfront.
According to the details we have received from RIM, the service will be priced at $4.99 per month, however for a “limited time” only, those who download BBM Music will get a 60 day free trial period. Otherwise, the service can be found in the App World and is available for those in the US and Canada as well as Australia.
In terms of features, those break down as follows;

- Download BBM Music from BlackBerry App World, and select 50 songs that will automatically be shared with your BBM Music friends
- The songs that your friends select (as well as the songs you selected) become part of your BBM Music library, thereby significantly increasing the number of songs you can listen to. For example: if you have 25 BBM Music friends, and each has 50 songs, your library could increase to 1,300 songs!
- You can create music playlists comprised of any number of songs from your BBM Music library
- Easily discover music that your BBM Music friends are listening to, and comment on your friends’ songs and playlists
- Songs can be cached, so you can listen to music even when out of wireless coverage, such as when you are on the subway or on a flight
- Each month, you can swap out up to half of the 50 songs you personally selected to explore new music
