Norton Announces Norton Tablet Security & "Scream" Feature For Norton Mobile Security
And just like that, those sporting an Android tablet have a few more options to consider in terms of device security. The new offerings, of which there are two, both come by way of Norton. The company has announced the availability of Norton Tablet Security along with a new feature for their Norton Mobile Security app.

That being said, both of these offerings further support the Norton Everywhere initiative which is described as being Norton’s way of bringing “security expertise and technologies to protect consumers everywhere they go, regardless of device or platform.”
“With today’s smartphones, people stand to risk losing much more than contact information when a device is lost or stolen – it’s access to their email, social networking sites, financial institutions or even exposing personal photos or videos, as many celebrities have,” said Dave Cole, vice president, mobile products, Norton. “Given these risks, consumers are increasingly motivated to protect their mobile lives. Norton Tablet Security and Norton Mobile Security provide protection from physical and online threats from one of the most trusted brands in security.”
With that, lets get into this latest news and first up is the availability of Norton Tablet Security. This one, as the name would imply — brings security minded features for those using an Android tablet. The Norton Tablet Security suite includes a web-based anti-theft, anti-malware and web protection. And in short, this one aims to help protect the device itself as well as the “user’s privacy and important data, against loss, theft, viruses, and other threats.”
Next up, the new features of the Norton Mobile Security app. These include “Scream” as well as some SMS-based anti-theft features, web-based anti-theft features, additional privacy features and anti-malware. The one that Norton seems to be touting most, Scream, this one is a locater feature that will allow the user to send a text to their missing phone to remotely activate an alarm, helping them locate their device.
As for pricing, the Norton Tablet Security suite is $39.99 and the Norton Mobile Security suite is $29.99, both of which come with one year of protection for one device. In terms of making the purchase, both options will be available from today and found in “select US and regional retailers.”
