Mophie Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition Now Shipping, Will Fit The iPhone 4 & 4S

Mophie Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition Includes A Complete Case, Extra Battery Power & Dedicated Outdoor Edition App For $119.95

Mophie may have announced the Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition a few months back, however the good news as of today is that the battery pack case is now shipping. Yup, the folks at Mophie have announced the immediately availability.

That being said, given this announcement actually came back around May, a recap on the product seems to be in order. First, the battery pack case is dubbed the Mophie Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition and it comes as a full case with a built-in battery and an app that can be downloaded from the iOS App Store.

In terms of price, the Mophie Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition is $119.95 and compatible with the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S. And at present, the Mophie website has it noted that those who order can expect it to ship in 1 to 2 days.

Perhaps the biggest question here, what one can expect to get in terms of battery life. Well, according to the folks at Mophie, the Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition will offer;

  • Talk Time: Up to 8 hours on 3G | Up to 16 hours on 2G
  • Internet Use: Up to 7 hours on 3G | Up to 11 hours on Wi-Fi
  • Audio Playback: Up to 44 hours
  • Video Playback: Up to 11 hour

Otherwise, aside from the extra battery life, the Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition offers a “full protective, form-fitting case” in a “lightweight” design. More specifically, the case is further described as follows;

“The juice pack plus provides a comfortable ergonomic design with the complete protection of a cool-colored, dual-injected hard shell case with a protective shock-proof rubberized band. It also features a simple toggle switch that allows for standby and charging mode so you only have to use the juice pack battery when you need it.”

Some of the other perks worth mentioning include the Outdoor Edition app which can be downloaded for free. This app will allow users to have maps directly on their device which should be good for those who venture a bit further into the outdoors, you know, into those locations where coverage may be spotty. Using the app will also allow you to take and send images, share your adventures by way of email or on Facebook. And lastly, given the focus on GPS, the adventure and images you record are all geo-coded.
