Facebook Terminates Freshly-Acquired Beluga
Beluga, a cross platform messaging app for Android, iOS, and BlackBerry, was recently acquired by Facebook. You can use the app to send not only plain text messages but also attach pictures and locations to them, and even send group messages — all for free.

It hasn’t been that long since Facebook acquired Beluga, but now the service announced that it’s shutting down to give way to Facebook Messenger which also has an app available for the aforementioned platforms. One thing that was unique to Beluga is the ability to create pods, which are conversations that you can customize with images, notifications, etc, so each chat experience is memorable.
You can no longer send messages through Beluga starting November 11, but you can still access it to get an archive of your pods until December 15 when the service completely closes. Have you been using Beluga? If so, will you miss it?
