New Android Market Version Gets Leaked Laden With New Features

Android Market 3.3.11 App Available to Download, Brings New Apps Auto-Update Settings to Android Devices

Android tablet and smartphone owners should know that there’s a new Android Market version in town, number 3.3.11, which is available for download right away.

The application comes with a bunch of new settings, but here’s a partial changelog according to Android Police:

• New setting: Auto-update apps (presumably, sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
• New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
• New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, ala Honeycomb)
• Smaller font
• New app drawer icon
• Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
• Star rating chart on app pages
• Minor UI tweaks

The new Android Market version should work on both tablets and smartphones although it looks like Honeycomb tablets don’t like the app that much at this point, as a number of glitches have been reportedly spotted.

However this is not the final Android Market version, and Google may issue various fixes and improvements ahead of its official roll out. On the other hand, considering we already have a leaked version out and about we expect Google to release version 3.3.11 in the near future. In fact, let us know using the comments section below whether you have officially received the new Android Market update or whether you decided to manually download the leaked version.

One of the most welcomed new features of the app is the auto-update setting which will let Android users update their apps a lot faster than before. In order for them to save precious cash on data overages, considering that not all carriers out there offer unlimited data plans, the new Android Market also has another useful setting, “update over Wi-Fi only.” Ticking that option ensures that users will have their devices auto-update apps only over Wi-Fi instead of 3G or 4G connections.

How do you feel about the new Android Market updates settings? What other options would you like to see in there?
