Motorola RAZR Gets One Week Delay In The UK

I know there are plenty of you out there looking forward to getting your hands on a RAZR from Motorola, whether it be a Droid RAZR or just a regular RAZR, but in at least one place, there’s set to be a slight delay in getting them in. Clove, one of the UK’s primary mobile phone dealers, has confirmed that there will be a one week delay over the original release time.

The RAZR was originally set to ship today, or possibly tomorrow, but that got pushed back to November 7th at the last minute. Of course, the primary question that follows such an announcement is why. And it’s a good question, as you want to make sure they at least knew what went wrong with an eye toward fixing whatever problem caused the delay in the future. The trouble here, of course, is that no one’s actually saying just why the delay’s taking place in the first place. But for a delay of one week, the problem may be too minute to be correctable, so no one’s bothering with filling us in on the why anyway; indeed, statements from Clove itself are essentially giant shoulder-shrugs with phrases like “This delay is quite common with brand new devices but we would have liked it if it had arrived as originally planned” figuring in prominently.

By way of recap, the RAZR will offer up a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, backed up by a full gig of RAM, a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED touch screen display and an eight megapixel camera, along with extremely thin construction (7.1 mm) and a variety of protection features including a steel core, waterproofing via Motorola’s Splash Guard nanotechnology system, and Gorilla Glass covering the display. Clove is set to offer them at the lowest prices yet in the UK, asking fully 454 pounds sterling, with others ringing in fully 20 pounds sterling more.
