AT&T Makes It Official; Properly Announces the Bold 9900, Torch 9860 & Curve 9360

AT&T Announces A Trio Of BlackBerry Smartphones, The Bold 9900 & Torch 9860 Coming November 6th With The Curve 9360 Coming November 20th

Though we have been hearing about some of these releases in rumor form, AT&T has come forward with an official announcement. The latest AT&T releases will include three BlackBerry 7 smartphones including the Bold 9900, the Torch 9860 and the Curve 9360.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9860 will come available first — on November 6th. The Curve 9360 will follow later in the month, on November 20th. Pricing breaks down as follows, the Bold 9900 will be $199.99, the Torch 9860 will be $99.99 and the Curve 9360 will be $29.99. And all prices assume a two-year agreement.

In terms of the devices, they will all be running BlackBerry 7 OS and able to use the AT&T 4G HSPA+ network. Breaking these down a bit further and we have the Bold 9900 with a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, hardware QWERTY, 1.2GHz processor, 768MB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 10.5 mm profile. In addition, the Bold 9900 is touting Liquid Graphics technology which is said to bring a “highly responsive touch interface with incredibly fast and smooth graphics.”

Moving over to the Torch 9860 and we have an all-touch BlackBerry with a 3.7 inch display, 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, HD video recording and the same Liquid Graphics technology found on the Bold 9900.

And lastly, the Curve 9360 — this model is packing a 2.44 inch display, hardware QWERTY keyboard and 5 megapixel camera with flash and video recording. The 9360 should also serve as a nice upgrade for those who enjoy using a Curve on the AT&T network as it brings a “faster processor, increased memory, and up to 2x the network speed of previous BlackBerry Curve models from AT&T.” In addition, the Curve 9360 will also be available in a second camera free version.

Bottom line here, if you are a BlackBerry user and prefer to have AT&T as your carrier, then it looks like November could be a good time to upgrade from your current handset.

Went to the AT&T store, they were sold out (on release day). I asked how many phones they had: 5 phones, yes.. five! And no indicaiton of when they were receiving more. I’ve just about had it with AT&T and RIM.
