Pirated Modern Warfare 3 PC Version Now Available for Download? [Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Gets Stolen & Hits PCs Before Official Release Date; Activision Already Tracking Down Pirated CoD Copies]
Can’t wait to get your hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? What if I told you that the PC version of the game has been already stolen and it’s already out there in the wild?

Of course, this is where I tell you that we don’t condone piracy here at TFTS and we certainly don’t advise you to get yourself an illegal copy of any game, including the latest CoD version. Not to mention that Activision seems to be really interested to track down those people that have chosen the dark side and are already playing the game.
Modern Warfare 3, which will hit stores on November 8, is expected to sell in 20 million copies in 2011 alone, up from a previous estimate of 16 million. So it’s understandable why Activision is trying to prevent as much as possible the distribution of illegal copies of the game.
So how did they lose the game? Apparently an employee at a shipping warehouse in Fresno, California, managed to steal one disc of the game – Disc 2 of the two-disk set for the PC version – and the game ended up in the usual channels. However, it’s not clear at this point whether the game can be downloaded or whether unofficial copies of MW3 are being sold around the country.
What’s certain is that Activision is tracking down gamers that have purchased an illegal copy of the game. Once caught they’ll get a $5,000 fine and they may be banned from playing the game online in the future. Once such customer that purchased an illegal copy of the game posted a warning on Craigslist advising others not to go trough with any plans of getting the pirated copy of MW3.

Are you buying MW3 this year or are you rather interested in Battlefield 3, which has already been launched and purchased by over 10 million anxious gamers in the first days of availability?
