Google+ Updates Include Ripples & A Creative Kit

It looks like Google has rolled-out a few new features for Google+ users. The new goodies include a method to watch how your posts are being shared along with a way to edit your uploaded images. In addition, some good news for those hoping to use Google+ with your Google Apps account.

That being said, lets begin things with the Google+ support for Google Apps accounts. In short, those using a Google Apps account will now be able to have an attached Google+ account. The catch here, the administrator for your Google Apps setup will have to enable the support before you begin. With that, if you fall into that category, hit up your admin to get things going. And worry not, the Google+ experience that you will get is the same as what regular Google Gmail users already have.

Moving on to the new features, those include Ripples and the Creative Kit. And as the names suggest, Ripples is the method of watching how your posts are being shared and the Creative Kit is the image editing tools. Breaking these down just a bit further and we learn that Ripples is described as follows;

“There’s something deeply satisfying about sharing on Google+, then watching the activity unfold. Comments pour in, notifications light up, friends share with friends (who share with their friends), and in no time at all there’s an entire community around your post. We want to help people re-live those conversations—both to rekindle that initial excitement, and to learn how posts flow across the network. That’s why we’re launching Google+ Ripples: a visualization tool for public shares and comments.”

As far as using Ripples, simply select the “View Ripples” option in a public post and get going.

Next up, the Creative Kit, this will allow you to edit and tweak your images a bit. Some of the highlights include being able to “add that vintage feel” or “add some text for added personality.” In addition, for those holiday times, like now with Halloween, Google is also adding in some limited-time-only effects that will help make your images a bit more festive.
