Garmin FR70 Fitness Watch Unveiled
Garmin recently announced the Garmin Fit app for iOS and Android smartphones and bringing things back to an actual device, they have since followed up with the FR70 Fitness Watch. The FR70 will be available shortly and should be a nice potential purchase for those who need to track their run workouts and prefer to not use a smartphone.

That being said, Garmin has not offered up a specific release date just yet, however they have said that the FR70 would be available beginning next month (November 2011). In terms of the price, $129.99.
“A lightweight, comfortable and stylish watch that helps users accomplish their goals is what the FR70 is all about,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “Wear it as an every day time piece and keep it on during walks, runs or fitness routines to monitor these activities and progress.”
And just to kick things off, the Garmin FR70 is black in color, however there will be one model with blue trim and another with pink trim. As for features, the FR70 does what many would expect and/or require from a fitness watch — it will track your time, heart rate, calories burned and more. In addition, when the FR70 is combined with the some of the optional accessories, it can then be used both outdoors on the road as well as indoors on the treadmill.

Some of the accessories that will work include the ANT+ or wireless foot pod. In addition, it will also partner up with the Tanita BC-1000 scale which will track and record your weight, body fat, body water and six other measurements.
And lastly, as we mentioned with the Garmin Fit smartphone app, the FR70 fitness watch is also compatible with the Garmin Connect set-up which means all your workout and health data will be easily accessible and able to be analyzed.
