Bell Canada Releases The LG Optimus Net, Has It Affordably Priced [LG Optimus Net With Android 2.3 Gingerbread & 3.2" Touchscreen Display Comes Available With Bell, Is Priced At $199.95 With No Contract]
Just like that, it looks like another low-priced Android handset has come available for those in Canada. The latest offering is the LG Optimus Net, which was officially announced back in July along with the Optimus Pro.

That being said, the LG Optimus Net has landed with Bell and comes with a nice low three-year agreement price as well as what we would judge to be a low no-term price. As for the three-year price, $29.95. Otherwise, the Optimus Net is priced at $149.95 on a two-year agreement, $174.95 on a one-year agreement and $199.95 with no agreement.
As for the handset itself, while this is certainly not the highest spec’d device in the Bell lineup, it does come with some perks. Just to begin with, the LG Optimus Net features a 3.2 inch (320 x 480) HVGA touchscreen display, is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has support for the Bell 4G (HSPA) network which offers download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.
Other features include an 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 150MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, DLNA, Mobile Hotspot and a 3 megapixel camera with video recording. The handset will measure in at 113.5 x 59 x 12.1 mm and weighs in at 125 grams.
The Optimus Net will arrive with some pre-loaded apps including Mobile TV, GPS Navigator, Remote PVR, Bell Self Serve, Tunes & Apps, Zoompass and Sirius Satellite Radio. And lastly, those who make the purchase can expect to find a 2GB microSD card included in the box.
Bottom line, the LG Optimus Net may not be the most exciting handset in the Bell lineup, however it is sometimes hard to argue with a price of free. Or for that matter, a price that is just shy of $200 with no commitment. Of course, even with a relatively low no-term price, we suspect most would take the three-year $29.95 option.
