White Samsung Galaxy Note & Galaxy Note S Pen SDK Confirmed [Samsung Talks Galaxy Note Smartphone/Tablet During European Tour]
Launched earlier this year at IFA 2011, the Samsung Galaxy Note is either a bigger smartphone or a smaller tablet, depending how you look at it. Or both! What’s certain is that Samsung will soon launch this beast in various market and that the company is interested in heavily promoting it.

Samsung started its Galaxy Note European tour today with London, and during the event it revealed that interested customers will be able to also purchase a white version of the Galaxy Note. The device is otherwise similar to the black smartphone / tablet shown at IFA when it comes to specs and features.
Earlier this week, we saw a first ad for the Galaxy Note which was showing, among other things, its stylus support. That’s certainly a feature of the Note that plenty of designers will appreciate when having to continue working on the go, and we’re not really surprised to see that Samsung is going to launch its S Pen SDK in December.
The SDK will let developers create even more stylus-friendly apps for the Galaxy Note. In the mean time, early Galaxy Note buyers will be able to play with various pen-ready third-party apps such as OmniSketch, ComicBook! and Sooner Workplace.
We’ll remind you that Google has officially announced Ice Cream Sandwich last week, during a joint Samsung event. Android 4.0 will come with stylus support, which means more Android developers may be interested in inventing apps with pen support in the following months. And those apps will work on all Android smartphones and tablets that will receive the ICS update. In other words, we can’t help but wonder when the Galaxy Note will receive its own ICS version. So should developers bother with Samsung’s S Pen SDK or rather create apps for ICS directly?
The Galaxy Note is a fresh Android device which certainly qualifies it for the ICS upgrade. It remains to be seen how fast Samsung will deliver the update. Are you buying a Galaxy Note? Do you plan on using the sylus?
