Magicka Takes A Jab At Cthulhu, Minecraft In Next Expansion
Magicka is a little indie game that’s managed to steal the hearts of many fans over the past ten months or so. One of the ways the game has done this is by parodying other big name games out there – like in the way the Magicka: Vietnam expansion made fun of DICE’s Vietnam expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Well, Paradox Interactive is at it again, announcing a new Magicka expansion today called Magicka: The Stars Are Left. Perhaps most importantly, The Stars Are Left will add a new campaign for you and your friends to play through, which will be a welcome departure from the item pack DLCs Paradox has been releasing lately.
That isn’t to say that the item packs aren’t fun or worth the money, but I’m sure there’s many players out there that are ready for a new campaign. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Magicka expansion without plenty of jabs at other games out there, and Paradox is promising more shout outs in The Stars Are Left. For starters, they teased in their press release that The Stars Are Left will be featuring everyone’s favorite tentacle-laden monster, Cthulhu, and that it will also be poking fun at certain block stacking indie game that seems to be popular these days.
In addition to the new campaign (which Paradox says is several levels long), Magicka: The Stars Are Left will also feature two new challenge maps, two new robes, two new bosses, five new achievements, seven new enemies, and “considerably more than two new items and Magicks.”
There’s no solid release date set for Magicka: The Stars Are Left at the moment, but Paradox says that it’ll be out sometime this winter. After hearing about all of the new content contained within The Stars Are Left, I say bring it on – I’m more than ready for some more Magicka action. How about you?
