MacBook Shipments Back on Track As Unibody Supplier Goes Back To Business
Back in October 16, Taiwanese manufacturer Catcher Technology was forcibly shut down due to strange odors emanating from the plant. Catcher Technology manufactures 60% of all unibody enclosures for Apple’s MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and the iMac desktop. When the company shut down due to what could be environmental issues on its part, it estimated that what happened would slash 20% of relevant Apple product shipments in October.

If the situation continued, November could’ve seen a 40% slash in shipments. Thankfully for Apple, Catcher Technology was recently allowed to reopen, thereby preventing much of the projected delays. How that half month of rest affects Apple supplies, however, is yet to be determined.
Apple recently launched its new line of MacBook Pros to basically zero fanfare, quietly replenishing stocks with new devices that have faster processors and bigger storage spaces. The unibody casing as with the rest of its aesthetics remain unchanged.
