Levetron Mech4 Gaming Keyboard Offers Spill Resistance, Variety Of Options

Levetron's Mech4 Keyboard Offers Modular Styling For Easy Customization & A Level Of Resistance To Spills

I’ve never been what you might call a real inveterate PC gamer. I’ve preferred console titles for some time now, for their ease of use and overall accessibility. But even I’m getting a bit swayed when I see the sheer amount of tech that’s coming out geared toward the PC gamer, like the Mech4 gaming keyboard from the folks at Levetron.

The first thing you’ll notice when you check out the pic above of the Levetron Mech4 is just how many pieces this thing comes in. It’s modular, so you’ll be able to plug in and unplug parts of the keyboard according to your needs at any current time. It’s got mechanical keys so you’ll get that kinetic and audio feedback you like, a macro board with an additional six keys (for when you absolutely need a certain spell or attack slaved to just one button), ambidextrous user capability (doesn’t matter if you’re left or right handed here, folks, the modular nature lets you set it up just how you like it), a two function switch near the Escape key, and a little LED lighting on the various controls just for that added shot of style.

Of course, style without substance will only get you so far, which is why it’s a very definite plus that the Levetron Mech4 also boasts some protection features as well. Not only are those mechanical keys rated for a 50 million keystroke life cycle, you’ll also get a spill-proof drainage design said to be similar to that of Lenovo Thinkpad laptops, so when your fourth can of Mountain Dew White Out (or whatever your particular weapon of choice is) goes crashing into your keyboard, you’ll merely lose your drink as opposed to your drink and your keyboard to boot.

And if you want to get hands on one of these, you’ll be able to do so at either NCIX or CyberPowerPC right now, for a relatively inexpensive $109.99.

The Levetron Mech4 looks like a pretty sweet piece of hardware indeed, but what do you guys think about this one? Figure it’s got the kind of features you want to see in your PC gaming hardware? Or is that a bit more keyboard than you need–or want–to run your gaming sessions? Either way, we want to hear from you, so head on down to the comments section and tell us what you think about this one!
