Windows Phone Announces Tango Video Calling App
Microsoft recently acquired Skype, and with that, we assume that means the chat app will be deeply integrated into the Windows Phone platform. And it will be — but it will take time, and the developers can’t make it till the first batch of Windows Phone Mango devices are released this coming November. So between now and the time of the integration, Mango devices will be using the Tango video calling app.

Tango began as a calling app for iOS back in September 2010, and has since decided to become a Mango early adopter. It seems the company’s efforts had paid off with this move, and is grateful that Microsoft chose Tango as WP Mango’s first video calling app. Tango worked with Microsoft closely to make the app Mango-compatible. It is free to use for basic calling and video calling, and can work cross platforms. So if you have Tango on your iOS or Android devices, you can use it to call Mango phones, too. While Skype is a definite addition to Mango in the future, Tango hopes it can get a few months of breathing room as the sole video calling app provider on the Mango platform.
