Nokia World 2011: Nokia Lumia 710 Specs, Features, Release Dates & Pricing Official

Nokia Announces the Second “True Windows Phone” Smartphone at Special Event, the More Affordable One

Following the Asha line of entry-level Symbian smartphones and the new Nokia flagship smartphone, the Lumia 800, Stephen Elop and friends announced a second Windows Phone 7.5 Mango device, the Lumia 710, a device that’s supposed to offer similar Mango features (including exclusive ones) and similar hardware characteristics.

Nokia Lumia 710 specs and features:

  • 3.7-inch Curved Clear Black display
  • Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
  • Office Hub support
  • SharePoint integration
  • 25GB of free online storage with SkyDrive
  • mobile Internet Explorer similar to IE9
  • Xbox Live integration
  • Hardware-accelerated graphics
  • HTML5 support
  • Usual physical buttons
  • Exclusive free Nokia Drive turn-by-turn navigation support
  • Exclusive Nokia Music / Mix Radio support – no log-in and no subscription
  • Exclusive ESPN Sports Hub

The phone will be a little more affordable than the Lumia 800, at €370, or about $515, but unlike its brother, the device is not available for pre-order right now. The handset will come in “stealthy black” and “crisp white” (but it will feature replaceable colored back covers) and will hit various markets this year including Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan.

U.S. availability has not been confirmed at this time, and we expect the phone to hit plenty of other markets in the future. Stephen Elop did say Nokia is working with 31 carriers to launch the new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango smartphones and it will be interesting to see how many Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 Nokia will sell by the end of the year considering that the phones will face some tough competition from iOS and Android devices in the coming months.

What’s also worth noting is the fact that Nokia did not mention any kind of 4G support for the new WP7.5 Mango devices, although it did say that LTE and CDMA support will be considered in other markets, without elaborating on such plans.

Now that you’ve seen the official details for both Nokia Mango handsets, are you buying the Nokia 800 or the Nokia 710?
