Motorola Droid RAZR Pre-Orders Begin With Verizon On October 27th

Verizon Wireless has come forward with some information that we suspect more than a few people have been waiting for — the release date and the pricing for the recently announced Motorola Droid RAZR. And nicely done, the handset will be available for pre-order very soon and will begin shipping relatively soon.

More specifically, those wishing to make a purchase will be able to move forward with a pre-order beginning tomorrow October 27th. The Droid RAZR is priced at $299.99 on a two-year agreement and as far as the actual in-store availability. Well, that new comes with a date, but a date that we suspect could possibly change. According to the details coming from Verizon, those who move forward with a pre-order can expect their phone to “ship no later” than November 10th. In other words, this almost sounds like those who pre-order may get lucky and have their RAZR arrive before the 10th.

Otherwise, for those who decided to not pay super close attention to the specs until they knew when the handset could actually be purchased — here is a recap of the specs. The Motorola Droid RAZR features begin with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Advanced qHD touchscreen display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity and running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

As for the handset itself, the display is made from the scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and the back casing is made from kevlar. In addition, the handset has the Motorola Splash Guard technology which adds some water proofing.

Other goodies of the Droid RAZR include a battery that is said to be able to offer up to 12.5 hours of run time, an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p HD video recording, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, microSD card slot and a 7.1mm profile.

Bottom line, the Droid RAZR is here, but how many will purchase this now and how many are going to wait until we get something a bit more solid in terms of the Galaxy Nexus release date?
