Motorola Droid 2 Global & Droid Pro Get Gingerbread Update [Motorola Droid Phones Get Much-Delayed Android 2.3 Push]

When Ice Cream Sandwich was launched, we’ve heard a lot of public outcry about how some phones haven’t even gotten Gingerbread upgrades yet. It doesn’t help that Gingerbread has been out way before Honeycomb, and that’s been quite some time ago as well. Owners of Motorola DROID Pro and DROID 2 Global can rejoice, however, as Gingerbread is finally rolling out to their devices.

Verizon began pushing out over the air updates for its older phones, the DROID Pro and DROID 2 Global. If you haven’t received an automated notification, simply go to your settings, and head to the About Phone section! Improvements include lockups and force reset fix, improved battery life using WiFi, new apps and widgets like Google Books, Amazon MP3 Store, and Accuweather, among other fixes and updates.

Aside from these two devices, Verizon is also rolling out a Gingerbread update to the its first 4G LTE smartphone, the HTC Thunderbolt, soon!
