Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Rolling-Out Ahead Of Schedule [Verizon 4G LTE Now Available For More Than 186 Million People, With More To Come Before Years End]
Verizon began rolling out their 4G LTE network less than one year ago, and when things first began, the goal was to have coverage available for 185 million users before the end of 2011. And well, it looks like Verizon is currently ahead of schedule.

The details are coming by way of Verizon who have offered the following — Verizon 4G LTE coverage is now available for more than 186 million users. In other words, the 4G LTE roll-out has already surpassed the year end goal by 1 million users and has done so with a few months to spare.
“Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network covers more than 186 million Americans from coast to coast.”
Of course, this most recent push came from the October 20th roll-out which brought coverage to an additional 22 markets. And that being said, one could think that having already meet the year end goal that Verizon would take some time to rest. Thankfully though, that does not seem like it will be the case. In fact, Verizon still has some roll-out plans for November 17th which will include thirteen more cities.
Moving past November and into December, Verizon has not yet stated how many or which markets would be getting coverage, however they have hinted that more will come online during the final month of the year. Otherwise, once those thirteen cities go live in November, that will bring the year total to 178 markets.
And lastly, as the 4G LTE coverage continues to grow, so does the device support. In total, Verizon now has 15 4G LTE device available which includes notebooks and netbooks as well as modems, hotspots, tablets and smartphones. All things considered, while the roll-out is probably not moving fast enough for everyone (notably the people that are still waiting), it does seem like Verizon has come a long way since the initial launch which brought coverage for only 38 cities.
