Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date Is November 16 for Some UK Buyers

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been announced on October 18 and since then we’ve been waiting for either Samsung or its carrier partners to finally announce pricing details and release dates for the next Google Nexus handset.

We’ve seen Verizon and O2 confirm that they’re going to carry the device, and a recent leak suggested Sprint may also be among the first mobile operators to offer the smartphone to interested subscribers, but nobody is willing to tell us when the phone will be launched.

Even Samsung only mentioned “November” during the media event in Hong Kong, as the launch window of the Galaxy Nexus in various markets, without providing any extra information.

Today, however, we have a launch date for those UK Galaxy Nexus buyers that will get their first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone through Phones4u. The retailer is already listing the handset complete with launch information and pricing details. The phone costs from £0 to £169 when bundled with 18- or 24-month contracts from Orange, with monthly fees ranging from £26 per month to £46 per month. Once ordered the phone is expected to ship on November 16, so there’s still some waiting in order.

Orange, part of the Everything Everywhere conglomerate in the UK, appears to be the second carrier ready to offer the Galaxy Nexus to its customers, although we’re yet to see an official announcement that confirms it. This means that at least two UK mobile operators are going to sell the Galaxy Nexus this holiday. Similarly, we may see more than one carrier sell the device in the USA.

Verizon is so far the only one that announce the handset and the word on the street is that it will launch the Galaxy Nexus on November 10. While we wait for Samsung and its carrier partners to announce release dates for the ICS handset, let us know whether you’re buying the new Nexus or whether you have something else in mind right now.
