Asus N Series Laptops Emerge In Europe [Asus N Series Laptops Set To Start Selling, Bring A Lot Of High-Caliber Features For Media Users]
I spotted the new Asus N series laptops selling out in European markets, and I have to admit I was pretty well impressed by what I’d seen. These laptops, set to land in shelves and on some web sites, offer some surprisingly impressive features, especially if you like your media to go.

We’d heard about these laptops previously, when they were announced under the names of the N55SF and the N75SF. And by way of recap, they’ll offer up will be available in your choice of 15.6 or 17.3 inch displays showing at 1600 x 900 resolution, and offer up your choice of an Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 processor, six gigs of DDR3 RAM (though you can get that upgraded to eight gig), a 640 gig hard drive, Nvidia graphics, SonicMaster sound systems (a co-development with the folks at Bang & Olufsen, easily one of the biggest names in European audio hardware), a USB 3.0 slot, an HDMI port, a five in one card reader, and, in what may be one of the strangest things I’ve seen in laptop sales in some time, an external subwoofer.
And, in a further interesting development, they seem to have taken a bit of a price cut from the last we’d heard. While previously we were looking at $1500 on the N55SF, and $1800 on the N75SF, now the N55SF is selling for around $1441 out at pcworld.uk, so a bit of a drop there, which is welcome, but really not that much. There is some word, though, that suggests there will be a lower-end version that starts around $1041, so you may be interested in that.
Still though, it’s clear that you’d be getting a pretty fair bit of laptop goodness here, even if you might well do better shopping elsewhere. But what do you guys think about this laptop lineup? Think you’d do all right with the new line of Asus N laptops? Or would Asus be better served sticking to tablets? Either way, we want to hear from you, so head on down to the comments section and tell us what you think!
