This Live Action Skyrim Trailer Looks Amazing [Bethesda Releases A New Live Action Skyrim Trailer, No Love For Khajiits & Argonians]

There’s just under three weeks left to go before we all get to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! Are you excited? I’m so excited, but for those of you aren’t, Bethesda has released a new live action trailer to help drum up some more anticipation. Then again, if you’re not excited for Skyrim, I don’t really know why you’re reading this (or if you’re even human).

Most of the time, live action trailers suck. The 90s brought us a slew of live action trailers that were either really lame or just plain weird, but this live action Skyrim trailer manages to hit all the right notes. It also confirms something I’ve been thinking for quite some time: The Elder Scrolls lay the perfect setting for a great movie.

However, given Hollywood’s alarming aptitude at taking great video game franchises and making them into crappy movies, I think I’ll move away from talk of an Elder Scrolls movie and just appreciate this minute-long trailer Bethesda decided to throw together. There’s no major plot details, just a giant dragon, terrified townspeople, and the dovahkiin that will save them all – just the way we like it.

Of course, I can think of a few groups that won’t be happy to see this trailer. Namely, I can’t see Redguards, Orcs, Khajiits, or Argonians too thrilled with this particular trailer, because there aren’t any in it. I guess racial equality is something the citizens of Skyrim still need to work on (though, to be fair, they have more pressing issues at the moment).

So give the trailer below a watch and then head down to the comments and tell us if you liked it. Are you excited for Skyrim? Do you already have your first character planned out? If so, what are you going to play on your first playthrough?
