New MacBook Pro Specs & Features Unveiled Ahead of Launch
As previously rumored, Apple’s MacBook Pro line is likely to receive an update in the following weeks and from the looks of it the new “late 2011” models will represent a mild refresh that will offer consumers faster Intel processors and more storage, at least for the 13-inch model.

We don’t have a clear release date for the new configurations yet and there are no pricing details available at this time, although 9to5mac says the new models will be priced just like the current ones.
In case you’re toying with the idea of buying a new MacBook Pro then you may want to wait a while longer for Apple to unveil these new babies. Below you can find the hardware improvements of the “late 2011” MacBook Pro models and a comparison with the “early 2011” models that are currently selling in stores:

It’s a mild update apparently.
Just bought a Macbook pro 2 days ago as a birthday present then heard new ones were coming and I was gutted.
The late 2011 ones as said are just a mild update with the processor being 2.2ghz instead of my 2.0ghz i7. Panic over lol.
I got the 15″ MBP 2.0 i7 with 4gb RAM, 500gb HDD & ATI graphics.
it’s already posted on apple website!!! it is confirmed. at least for the 13-inch model.
The new models are allready for sale and prices are still the same.
The only change is in processor, that is a bit faster.
No bluetooth 4.0 or retina display, niether the usb 3.0.
I gues, all that will come with the Ivy Bridge processor update.
The Updated Macbook Pro has been released. Check the Apple Store to see for yourself.
I have one on order (15″ 2.3ghz quadcore 8m 256ssd etc.) they seem to have upgraded it. I got a mail from apple store telling me they were shipping me a new model. Looking at the new spec on my order it seems to be the same except for a 2.5ghz processor.
The early 2011 MacBook Pro 17 does not have an SD card slot as noted above. The new one does not, either.
Actual differences:
Early 2011 MBP 17 (Macbook Pro 8,3)
2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
AMD Radeon HD 6750M
Late 2011 MBP 17
2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
AMD Radeon HD 6770M
This is true, I met this morning with the apple distributor and was informed the new models should hit the shelves in about 20 days
I bought mine on the 22nd to have articles like this come out the next day or 2. I have 30 days to return mine if I wish, so I am doing that (it is only 2 weeks old at this time) and buying the newer updated one which are now in stores…
